An apple a day keeps the doctor away
Apple in the morning - Doctor's warning
Roast apple at night - starves the doctor outright

Annurca Apple or Melannurca
annurca apple

Also named "queen of apples", is a Geographical Protected product of Italian fruit from Campania and is the only apple originated in southern Italy. Small sized. This apple needs a period of redness after collecting: it is placed  over straw mats (melai) on which the fruits are arranged in lines, exposing to light the less redcolored side.

crisp and juicy, with a flavour that is reminiscent of berries,
mostly cultivated in Sudtirol (Trentino Alto Adige), Italy.
