Prima di andare in vacanza all'Elba ho voluto provare questo liquore pubblicato poco prima dalla cara amica ischitana Aitina, lasciando in infusione le fragole nell'alcool e zucchero.
Per una disobbedienza filiare le fragole sono rimaste a macerare più del previsto, ma questo non ha rovinato la buona riuscita dell'elisir fragoloso, anzi, ne ha accentuato la nota profumata e colorata.
Ora deve riposare ancora un bel po', ma sarà poi un ricordo profumato per un prossimo Natale rosso fragola!
Ingedienti:
700 g di fragole
700 g di zucchero
700 g di alcool per liquori
300 g di acqua minerale naturale
Sciacquare delicatamente le fragole sotto l'acqua corrente, asciugarle, privarle del picciolo e sistemarle in un vaso di vetro (a chiusura ermetica) con lo zucchero,
l’alcool e l’acqua.
Lasciare in infusione per un mese, avendo l'accortezza di scuotere con delicatezza il vaso una volta al giorno.
Filtrare poi il
liquido, prima con un colino per togliere le fragole, poi con gli appositi filtri in carta (quelli del caffè
all’americana) o in garza.
Imbottigliare aggiungendo qualche fragolina recuperata o, meglio ancora, unendo qualche fragolina di osco fresca.
Aspettare 6 mesi prima di degustare.

Just few days before going on holiday to Elba I left in infusion some strawberries in alcohol with sugar, as I read on Aitina's recipe.
They have been left to soak longer than expected, but luckily with no schocking consequences, indeed some more infusion time has emphasized fragrance and color.
Now th liquer needs to rest some more months, it will be ready to celebrate a scented strawberry red Christmas! :-)

You need:
700 g strawberries
700 g sugar

300 g still mineral water

Gently rinse the strawberries under cold running water, dry them, take off the stem and place in an airtight glass jar with sugar, alcohol and water.
Leave to infuse for a month, making sure to gently shake the jar once a day.
Then filter the liquid, first with a strainer to remove strawberries, then with coffee paper filters or gauze ones.
Pour into bottles adding a few strawberries or, better, some fresh wild strawberries.
Wait 6 months before tasting.
