Simona of Briciole is hosting this week BWW,
please do send your entries to simosite AT mac DOT com

black cabbage-tuscan kale

Black Cabbage or Tuscan Kale,
with such funny names as  Dinosaur Kale or Palm Tree Kale,
is a seasonal winter cabbage,
one of the most important and typical ingredient for

 tuscan ribollita

the famous Tuscan soup made with bread and vegetables.
My family recipe here,
soon on line in English too.

Kale is definitely sturdy as a plant and so nourishing for a winter soup. Thank you for the lovely images!

Lynne, thanks, it's also one of my favorite dish, my Tuscan soul is so strong :-)

Simona, I had never seen it before as a plant, thought it was shorter :-) anyway, one of the best peculiar winter ingredients, and guess what, till some years ago scarcely found outside Tuscany!
